Chi-Rho Stole

Main fabric is wool.

The Chi-Rho has been designed to incorporate spirals and interlace - two of the main features of Celtic art.  (The space available on the ends of a stole meant it was not possible to achieve the level of intricacy found in other Celtic Chi-Rho images, such as the Book of Kells or the Lindisfarne Gospels!).

The tartan used in this stole is Macdonald - the clan sett in the ancient colours.  The fringe is hand woven with wool and metallic gold yarn to match the sett of the tartan.

In the lower photograph you can see the same design but using the "Flower of Scotland" tartan.
